Patients from the La Crosse, Onalaska and Holmen areas should schedule an appointment through Patient Online Services or by calling 507-293-9525 prior to arrival. Testing is available by appointment only.
"Unfortunately, our volumes for testing have seen a large increase with this latest variant of COVID-19 spreading in our community," says Benjamin G. Anderson, a nurse administrator at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. "We felt this was the most convenient option for patients under the current circumstances, as this site has worked extremely well for patients previously."
The testing site will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. Patients who need preprocedure COVID-19 testing will continue to be tested in Mayo Clinic Health System's regular clinics. Patients in other communities where Mayo Clinic Health System sites are located are encouraged to go through Patient Online Services or call their local clinic to schedule a testing appointment.
"We ask that patients who are concerned about symptoms consistent with COVID-19 log in to Patient Online Services and use Check Symptoms to determine if testing is advised, or contact the Mayo Clinic Nurse Triage line at 507-293-9525 for appropriate screening," says Kevin Fitzgerald, M.D., chair, Division of Family Medicine, Mayo Clinic Health System, Southwest Wisconsin Region. "If you haven't been vaccinated, please do so. If you have questions or concerns about the vaccine, talk to your provider."
